Why Urban to Burban?
Why the blog? Because my friends are scattered around the world, I'm getting even worse at maintaining e-mail contact and a lot of you dislike group e-mails. With the blog, you chose when and if you want to be updated on my life.
Why the name? Well, here's the update: I've just moved from downtown Toronto to the old family homestead in rural Nova Scotia (the burban bit...I figured the urban bit was self-evident). It's been a bit of a change. Here are some pix, so I don't have to write a few thousand words:
Backyard view from my little bachelor near Bathurst & Bloor
The current backyard (well, most of it, and in different seasons, but you get the idea...especially if you imagine the 2 photos below lined up...which I can't seem to make them do here):

I'll be finishing my thesis from the comforts of my parents' basement while looking out at the scenes above. It has a much nicer feel than the old (windowless) concrete closet that was my office in Toronto, though I can't imagine why.
